Quick Answers
I have a ResusReady Online subscription — can I get a refund?
Subscriptions are non-refundable, including auto-renewals. You can cancel anytime in your account to stop future charges, and you'll keep access until the end of your paid term.
I bought an in-person course and need to cancel — can I get a refund?
Yes, if you cancel more than 14 days before your course date you're eligible for a refund minus a fee. Within 14 days, the seat is committed and no refund is available. See the full table below for the exact fees.
My course unfortunately had to be cancelled — what now?
You get to choose: a full refund, a transfer to a future course, or a credit you can use later. No fees, no hassle.
Can I send someone else in my place, or move to another date?
Different person — no, course fees are non-transferable. Different date — yes, with the same fee as a refund (see table). Within 14 days of your course, transfers aren't available.
ResusReady Online Subscription
ResusReady Online is our annual subscription to digital clinical education courses ($38 per year, taxes extra). Because you get instant access to the entire library the moment you subscribe, our policy here is different from in-person courses.
Refunds
Subscriptions are non-refundable, including renewals. Once you've been given access to the library — even for a few minutes — we can't issue a refund.
Cancelling future renewals
You can cancel anytime through your account dashboard, or by emailing hello@resusready.ca. Cancelling stops the next year's automatic renewal — you'll keep access for the remainder of the term you've already paid for, then your subscription ends. We don't pro-rate or refund the unused portion.
Auto-renewal
Your subscription renews automatically on your anniversary date each year. If you want to avoid the next year's charge, cancel before the renewal date — and you're set.
In-Person Courses
Running an in-person course costs us money long before you walk in the door — instructor bookings, venue reservations, and licensed materials from Heart & Stroke that we have to pay for one month before the course runs. Our refund tiers reflect when we've already spent that money on your seat.

Seat is committed
The $25 fee on early cancellations covers payment processing and admin costs. The 30% fee in the 15–29 day window covers the Heart & Stroke licensing fees we've already paid on your behalf — those are non-refundable to us, so they can't be refunded to you. Inside 14 days, the seat is fully committed: venue, instructor, and materials are locked in.
Transfers to a different date
If you want to switch to a different course date instead of cancelling, the same fee schedule applies — but you'll pay the fee on top of your original course fee, not lose your original payment. The transfer is treated like a new booking with a small admin charge for the change.
Transferring to another person
Course fees are not transferable to other people. Each registration is tied to the person who signed up, partly because of Heart & Stroke certification tracking and partly because of pre-course requirements you complete individually.
No-shows
If you don't show up to your registered course, the seat is forfeited and no refund or credit is available. We're not able to offer make-up sessions for missed courses.
Late arrivals
Heart & Stroke certification standards don't allow late admittance — if you arrive after the course has started, we have to turn you away, and unfortunately no refund is available. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
Course Prerequisites Not Complete
If a student has not completed their required pre-course materials (such as Heart & Stroke online modules) before the start time of the course, we unable to admit them into the course as per Heart & Stroke policy, no refund is available in these cases.
If ResusReady Has To Cancel Your Course
Sometimes we have to cancel — usually because we didn't hit Heart & Stroke's minimum enrolment, or because of instructor illness, facility issues, or something out of our control.
If we cancel a course you're registered for, you'll get to choose one of three options:
-
Full refund of everything you paid — no fees, no questions.
-
Transfer to another course — move your seat to a future ResusReady course of equal value.
-
Credit for later — credit on file for any future ResusReady course
We'll email you as soon as we know, using the contact info you gave us at registration. Make sure that email address is one you check — we can't take responsibility for missed notifications if your contact details are out of date.
Travel & accommodation costs
If you booked travel, hotels, or other costs to attend a course we ended up cancelling, we're not able to cover those costs.
How to Request a Refund or Transfer
Send us a quick email
All refund and transfer requests should be sent in writing to: hello@resusready.ca
Please include:
-
The email address you used to register
-
The course name and date (for in-person courses)
-
A brief reason for the cancellation — it's helpful for us, but never required
Once we receive your request, we'll confirm by email within 1–2 business days. Approved refunds are processed in Canadian dollars to the original payment method, and typically take 5–10 business days to show up on your statement, depending on your bank or card issuer.
A Quick Note on Chargebacks
Please reach out to us before disputing a charge with your bank — a quick email almost always sorts it faster. Chargebacks are tough on small businesses to dispute, so if one is filed before we've had a chance to help, we'll need to close the account and can't offer future ResusReady courses or subscriptions. We'd much rather sort it out together.
Questions?
We're a small Canadian company and a real human reads every email. If something here doesn't make sense for your situation, or if you're not sure which policy applies to you, please feel free to reach out.
